This year we did another trip to the Kruger National Park. We did not intend to visit this soon again after last year, but I have joined the SANParks Honorary Rangers since then, and this year was a golden opportunity to attend their annual Indaba in Skukuza. We also visited my son in Pretoria and joined some friends, on our way to the Kruger, at the Pyramid Airfield near Barberton.
We’ve seen new places like Kaapsehoop in Mpumalanga and we’ve done a number of behind the scenes tours in Skukuza like visiting the herbarium, where tens of thousands of plant, insect and animal samples are kept for research and the Skukuza Science Leadership Initiative where students from South Africa and abroad are trained in conservation. And I took part in other behind the scenes tours which I am not at liberty to tell you about.
I have decided not to write a story about this tour, but allow you to rather enjoy Anette’s beautiful video of some of the wonderful places we have seen. Enjoy!
